More than 605 violent deaths have been reported so far this year in Zone 8.
Last night a shooting was reported in the cooperative Venecia, del Guasmo, in the south of Guayaqui.
Several subjects aboard a vehicle without license plates and attacked a group of people who were gathered in a house in the populous sector.
Three people who were in the house were shot and taken to a hospital in the area. Also, in the middle of the attack, two minors who were in the area were also left with similar injuries.
One of those affected who was in the house died in hospital.
Last weekend, other violent events were reported that left four men murdered.
Last Saturday night, Ronny Torres was shot at a food business in the Siete Lagos sector, in the south. In a hospital he died despite medical efforts.
Two men died after a similar attack carried out by six men who were mobilizing in three motorcyclists who arrived at the entrance of that sector of Ciudad Victoria, northeast. As a result, several people were injured.
Another murder was reported in the suburb. Franklin Espinoza died after receiving several gunshot wounds on the 42nd and the Q, in the suburb of Guayaquil.
In zone 8, made up of Guayaquil, Durán and Samborondón, more than 605 violent deaths have been recorded so far this year.
Victims of shootings in Guasmo
The previous week at least three shootings were reported in various areas of Guasmo. In one of the cases, a 10-year-old boy who was walking with his mother was left in the middle of a police chase.
The minor was taken to the Francisco de Ycaza Bustamante hospital, where it was determined that a bullet grazed his buttock and he was stable. (I)
