In the presentation, I was asked what a weak society is and why they visualize Ecuador this way? Although it is a subjective term used to describe a society that has the characteristics of fragility, instability and lack of social cohesion. Also when it has pronounced characteristics of inequality, lack of opportunities, high insecurity, low investment in art and culture, lack of community studies, crisis of values, bias in market power relations, among others.

Additionally, depending on the context, it is also when there is a general lack of trust among members that manifests itself in fragile interpersonal relationships, disrespect and a sense of constant competition. Its institutions do not provide comprehensive services to the population, which contributes to instability and distrust in the system. The presence of extreme inequality in income levels, opportunities and access to resources persists. This lack of equality creates social and cultural tensions, anger and divisions that hinder cohesion and general well-being.

Important questions

On the other hand, it can be fragmented in terms of ethnic, religious, political divisions. Those that can generate conflict, segregation and lack of identity at the national, social or communal level. Also, the lack of active participation of citizens in decision-making and in political and civic life. Political apathy and lack of commitment can undermine democracy and the development of a sustainable society.

It is important to note that these features are not exhaustive and that each community may have different aspects that are considered weak. In addition, it is possible that a society that is considered weak in certain aspects may have strengths in other areas. Analyzing the strength or weakness of a society is a complex topic and its assessment can vary depending on different perspectives and approaches.

Citizenship?

At the end of the day, I can mention that the structural problems in Ecuador remain and have led us to be a weak society where every day we see a culture of security, equality and life on. As long as a large part of the population lives in conditions of extreme poverty, with difficulties in meeting their basic needs, such as food, housing, education, medical care, and without access to culture as a universal right. With deficient or underdeveloped infrastructure, limited education that inhibits human development and prolongs the cycle of poverty, with high unemployment rates, job insecurity and underemployment, we will not only continue to be a weak society, but a society that involutes and fragments every day. a day without a solution

It is important to work on cultural practices that go towards the empowerment of the human being, where safety is a priority and is rooted in the values, principles, beliefs and behaviors of people, consciousness, creativity, awareness, critical thinking, responsibility and where the community is the real protagonist.
