The permanent representatives of the EU member states have agreed on the 11th package of sanctions against Russia, the Swedish Presidency of the EU Council announced on social networks.
The message says that the package included “measures to counter sanctions circumvention and individual listings.”
According to Andrzej Sados, Polish Ambassador to the EU, the sanctions provide for a ban on Russian trailers crossing the border and transporting oil through the southern branch of the Druzhba oil pipeline (Hungary, Czech Republic, Slovakia). Now this is the only branch of Druzhba through which Russian oil enters Europe. Kazakh oil is transported along the northern route.
In addition, 70 people who, according to the Polish ambassador, are “responsible for the illegal deportation of children,” as well as more than 30 “economic entities that circumvent sanctions and support Russian military efforts,” fall under the sanctions, Kommersant writes.
Earlier, the EU authorities admitted that they could not legally confiscate all the frozen assets of Russia, but they found an alternative way to transfer profits from Russian assets to Ukraine.
