An international group of experts and journalists is working on the Nord Stream bombing case. The investigation is being followed by the media, including the German TV channel RTL.
Correspondents of the channel, together with specialists, received detailed footage of the damaged gas pipeline using an unmanned underwater vehicle – the video was published on the RIA Novosti Telegram channel.
The experts concluded that the explosions of Nord Stream and Nord Stream 2 are very different and were probably carried out by “two different actors.”
Thus, the Nord Stream 2 gas pipeline was most likely blown up by a small explosive device and suffered much less damage than Nord Stream, the explosion on which occurred 17 hours later and left a gap in both pipes almost 250 meters long. At the same time, Nord Stream 2 shows no signs of massive destruction: the pipe is relatively neatly broken in one place, the TV channel reports.
The media, referring to a specialist from the Danish research company Force Technology, notes that with a probability of 70%, the gas pipeline was blown up by a small shaped charge from the outside, which was enough for the pipeline to burst due to internal gas pressure.
Recall that the explosions occurred on September 26, 2022 at once on two Russian export gas pipelines to Europe – Nord Stream and Nord Stream 2. The investigation is being conducted by a group of foreign experts. The Prosecutor General’s Office of Russia initiated a case on an act of international terrorism.
