Criminal shot a student in the middle of the theft of his cell phone, in the suburb of Guayaquil

It was 07:00 when a student was robbed on the corner of Ninth and Argentina, in the suburb of Guayaquil. The incident occurred when the minor was about to cross over to his school.

According to witnesses, the student was standing in the corner of a store chatting with his cell phone in his hand when an armed individual approached him and demanded that he hand over his phone.

The schoolboy began to struggle with the delinquent and he shot him.

The bullet hit him in the left foot. Although it is not a serious injury, the projectile tore his clothes and he was taken in an ambulance from the Fire Department to a health home in the area.

The neighbors ask for greater police protection in the area, since they say that the students begin to arrive at 06:30 and must wait there for the doors of the school to open.

“The police come for 5 or 10 minutes and then they leave, but the boys remain here,” commented a resident who witnessed the assault. She described the thief as a young man with a thick build.

”When I heard the shot I hid and there the boy began to ask for help because he felt that his foot was burning. The wound was caused by the heel, ”explained another resident.

In the corner of the school there is a security camera from ECU911 that could have captured the assault on the student.

Not the first time. Two weeks ago a 15-year-old student from a school in La Ladrillera was shot as he left his campus. The victim died a week ago after eight days hospitalized.
