Until when can you drive with expired licenses?

The National Transit Agency (ANT) will maintain until December 31, 2021 an extension on the validity and use of licenses that expired from January 1, 2020. This in the context of the coronavirus pandemic.

That is, until that date the free movement of persons with licenses expired in the referred period is allowed, as long as they have the original payment of the species, the turn printed on the ANT website and the expired license or the report in case of loss or theft.

Likewise, according to Resolution No. 056, until December 31, 2021, the documents that are constituted as prerequisites for obtaining for the first time, renewal and duplicates of driver’s license that have expired and have been issued since on January 1, 2020.

Non-professional license renewal

Cost: Type A or B $ 68.00 || Type F $ 42.00

Requirements:

• Original expired driver’s license.
• In case of loss or theft, submit the complaint made to the Council of the Judiciary. You can make the report here. It does not need to be signed and / or stamped by the Prosecutor’s Office.
• Original of the result of the psychosensometric examination carried out in one of the training schools authorized by the ANT, approved.
• Original of the identity card and / or citizenship.
• Original proof of payment.

Procedure:

Type B driver’s licenses [Primera vez]

Cost: $ 68.00

Requirements:

• Non-professional driver certificate type B, issued by a training school for non-professional drivers authorized by the ANT.
• Original of the degree certificate of the course.
• Original learning permit.
• Original of the result of the psychosensometric examination, approved.
• Original of the identity card and / or citizenship.
• Original of the certificate or blood type card issued by the Ecuadorian Red Cross.
• Original proof of payment.

Only and exclusively, licenses may be issued for the first time in the same province where the user took his training course.

Procedure:

• Generate a money order here.

• Go to the agency listed on your shift, 15 minutes before the assigned time.

Duplicate non-professional license, due to loss, theft or total deterioration
