Ukraine needs more tanks and combat vehicles. The weapons provided by the West are not enough, Ukrainian Deputy Foreign Minister Andriy Melnyk said in an interview with Der Tagesspiegel.
According to him, the Bundeswehr could “transfer more tanks than the 18 combat vehicles already delivered from its stocks.” The Armed Forces of Ukraine are also due to receive “another 60 Marder armored vehicles,” Melnyk added.
Ukraine also calls on allies to provide it with Western-style combat aircraft. So far, no country has announced their transfer to Kyiv. This topic will be discussed, among other things, during a meeting in the Ramstein format with teams from the ministries of defense of the Netherlands, Denmark, the United States and other countries on June 15. According to the Minister of Defense of Ukraine Oleksiy Reznikov, the departments in the Telegram channel, the countries will discuss the details and effectiveness of the “air coalition”, as well as the training of pilots, technicians and engineers who will service the aircraft. Kyiv will also raise the topic of strengthening air defense, ammunition and artillery shells, Reznikov added and expressed the hope that hubs for repairing and equipping equipment will appear on the territory of Ukraine.
