You can lose weight without counting calories, a strict diet and stress. So says nutritionist Vasilisa Ponomareva, writes Medikforum.
She gave five actionable tips to those who are struggling with being overweight. The first one is sleep. According to the doctor, if a person sleeps too little, the body secretes more of the hormone ghrelin, which increases the feeling of hunger, and he eats more than he actually needs. A nutritionist advises going to bed at the same time every day and getting at least 7-8 hours of sleep. Healthy sleep also helps reduce stress levels.
She also recommends eating a balanced diet, which includes filling your plate with lean protein, healthy fats, fruits and nuts, seeds, and whole grains. The nutritionist noted that the daily diet should consist of healthy carbohydrates, 30% fats (avocados, olive oil, nuts) and 30% proteins (meat, fish, eggs).
The third tip is to avoid processed foods. The doctor explained that fast food, sweets and pastries not only do not saturate for a long time, but also cause a rapid increase in blood sugar levels. In addition, they contain few nutrients.
Ponomareva also advises regularly doing light gymnastics or doing yoga, which can promote muscle growth. Finally, the fifth tip, according to the nutritionist, is to walk more – walking not only burns calories, but also prevents muscle pain and gives energy, the doctor emphasized.
