The Russian side expects that visa-free group trips with China will be launched in July. This, according to “Interfax”, said representatives of the Ministry of Economic Development of Russia.

According to the head of the department, Maxim Reshetnikov, the Ministry of Economic Development is waiting for a list of tour operators from Beijing that have the right to send groups to Russia. Last week, such a list was received from Iran.

Reshetnikov added that for group trips, the task is to “start” Iran and China. The issues of stimulating tourist exchanges with India are also being discussed.

He also reported on the situation with preparations for the launch of an electronic entry visa for foreign tourists. “The Foreign Ministry reports that colleagues will launch it by July 15,” he said, adding that a number of technological issues have already been worked out with the Ministry of Internal Affairs and the Ministry of Digital Development. Separately with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs there is a discussion of the issue of the cost of visas.

Reshetnikov pointed out that changes are being made to Federal Law 115 that will allow foreign tourists to open electronic accounts abroad and pay for hotels and restaurants in Russia.
