Norway keeps six fishing vessels in shipyards. The head of the Federal Agency for Fishery, Ilya Shestakov, spoke about this at a meeting with the governor of the Murmansk region, Andrey Chibis.

He expressed “great concern” about the actions of the Norwegian partners. According to him, there are currently six Russian ships at the shipyards. Shestakov expressed the hope that the Norwegian colleagues will understand that they need to be repaired and released.

According to him, the restrictions imposed by the Norwegians on the repair of fishing vessels are illegal. In this regard, he considered it necessary to start modernizing the Murmansk Sea Fishing Port and build a modern logistics hub. The head of the Federal Agency for Fishery also accused the former owners of taking away the Murmansk fishing port. He stressed that now the service and the region are faced with the task of “returning everything to the bosom of the state.”

Earlier it was reported that Norway would restrict the passage of Russian fishing vessels, allowing them to enter only three ports in the north of the country – Kirkenes, Troms and Botsfjord.
