After the collapse of the upper part of the Kakhovskaya hydroelectric power station, the water continues to rise – up to 10 meters in Novaya Kakhovka, 8 in Dnepryan, 5.3 in Korsunka. This is reported by the emergency services.
It is noted that the water level will last about 72 hours. The maximum level of water rise, according to the mayor of Novaya Kakhovka Leontiev, was 12 meters. According to him, it was a plateau.
It is clarified that half of the spans of the hydroelectric power station have already collapsed, the collapse continues.
According to TASS, the IAEA received reports of damage to the Kakhovskaya HPP.
“The IAEA is aware of reports of damage at the Kakhovskaya HPP, IAEA experts at the Zaporizhzhya nuclear power plant are closely monitoring the situation, there is no direct threat to nuclear safety at the plant,” the text of the service says.
At the same time, the director of the Zaporozhye NPP, Yuriy Chernichuk, noted in his Telegram channel that the heat removal system can be replenished both with water from the Kakhovka reservoir and with alternative sources.
Recall that on the night of June 6, the upper part of the hydroelectric power station was destroyed as a result of shelling, the dam of the Kakhovka reservoir itself was not destroyed. There is an unregulated discharge of water.
