After the destruction of the Kakhovskaya HPP, about 300 houses in the village of Dnepryany and the village of Korsunka in the suburb of Nova Kakhovka, which are located downstream, may be flooded. The mayor of the city Vladimir Leontiev warned about this, the message was published in the Telegram channel of the administration of the Novokakhovka urban district.
“There are no threats now. The only threat is that at the moment we may have problems with the delivery of water to the Crimea,” Leontiev added. He stressed that the authorities are now taking all measures in case of the need for temporary evacuation of some people.
At the same time, earlier the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Ukraine announced the evacuation of residents of the right bank of the Dnieper, which is under the control of Kyiv.

According to the mayor of Novaya Kakhovka, Vladimir Leontiev, “there were several hits at two in the morning in the upper part of the hydroelectric power station, where the sandors are located, where the valves are directly located, and it was demolished.” According to him, the incident occurred due to night shelling.
