An individual entrepreneur from the Samara region was detained after cases of fatal poisoning with cider in the Ulyanovsk and Samara regions, the press service of the RF IC reports.
According to the department, the businessman is suspected of providing services that do not meet safety requirements, which negligently caused the death of two or more people.
In total, 14 cases of poisoning were registered in Dmitrovgrad and Ulyanovsk, eight of which ended in death. According to preliminary data, the poisoning occurred after the use of “Mr. Sidra”, bought in the stores “Beer Territory” in the Ulyanovsk region. Two more women died in the Samara region also after poisoning with cider, the UK reported.
Investigators opened a case under Part 3 of Art. 238 of the Criminal Code of Russia. The article provides for punishment in the form of imprisonment for up to ten years.
According to the Shot channel, residents of Dimitrovgrad and Ulyanovsk aged 29 to 53 died from poisoning. Six people are in intensive care.
