In the Ulyanovsk region, six people were poisoned to death by cider

Six residents of the city of Dimitrovgrad, Ulyanovsk region, died of poisoning after drinking cider, according to the regional department of the RF IC.

According to investigators, on June 3-4, several residents of Dimitrovgrad were taken to the city hospital with a diagnosis of poisoning with an unidentified substance. Despite the provision of comprehensive medical assistance, six of the victims died.

Investigators have previously established that all the victims used the alcoholic drink “cider”, bought in the shops of the city “Beer Territory”. The products were supplied by an entrepreneur from the Krasnoglinsky district of the Samara region, the report said.

According to the authorities of Dimitrovgrad, a total of 12 people were poisoned. Six of them are currently in intensive care, RIA Novosti reports. The city is seizing alcohol from retail outlets, residents are urged to stop drinking draft products.

On the fact of the incident, a criminal case was initiated on the provision of services that do not meet safety requirements, which negligently caused the death of two or more persons. The sanctions of this article provide for punishment of up to ten years in prison.
