An 8-year-old boy was killed on the night of this Thursday 25 after he received several gunshot wounds while he was inside a vehicle.
The incident occurred around 8:30 p.m. in the El Níspero community, located five kilometers north of the Santa Ana canton, in Manabí.
The minor was identified as Érick Macías Moreira. The Police try to clarify the fact of violence. During the attack, an adult person who was traveling with the minor was injured.
According to preliminary versions of witnesses, the adult stopped the march of the car to try to dialogue with another person in the community of El Níspero. When he tried to stop, witnesses said, he was attacked by two people who were allegedly traveling on a motorcycle.

After the attack, the injured people were taken to the Verdi Cevallos Balda hospital in Portoviejo. However, the minor died a few minutes after entering that health home.
The injured person remained in stable condition, but under observation of the doctors of that health home, because he received at least four shots in the attack.
Criminalistics personnel went to the site where the attack was recorded. A Forensic Medicine vehicle went to the hospital to lift the child’s body.
