The head of the Federal Tax Service, Daniil Yegorov, apologized for the problems in introducing the single tax account institution. According to RBC, Yegorov admitted that the implementation was “bad”.
“We did not foresee what we thought would work,” Yegorov explained. As a result, the foundation of the entire system had to be changed.
He acknowledged that the problems caused the business “huge inconvenience.”
On the whole, Yegorov believes, the UNS is “the right story,” since the mechanism allows the federal department to independently allocate revenues to the budget system, which significantly reduces the number of unexplained tax payments.
We add that the mechanism of the UNS and the single tax payment was launched on January 1, 2023. It is designed to simplify and make the tax payment system more transparent. The idea was that practically all taxes, contributions and fees are now transferred as a single payment, and all funds are accumulated in a single account and automatically distributed among taxes and budgets.
However, during the implementation of the mechanism, there were technical difficulties. For example, users complained about the incorrect display of data on arrears and overpayments in their personal account, errors in calculating the balance, etc.
