The State Duma adopted a law expanding the list of extremist materials for the distribution, production or storage of which administrative responsibility is established. It is reported by TASS.
It is noted that now Article 20.29 of the Code of Administrative Offenses establishes liability for the mass distribution of extremist materials included in the published federal list of extremist materials. According to the adopted law, the extremist materials specified in paragraph 3 of Article 1 of the law “On countering extremist activity” are added to the article.
In particular, we are talking about documents or information intended for distribution or public display on other media that call for extremist activity or substantiate or justify the need for its implementation, including the works of the leaders of the National Socialist Workers’ Party of Germany, the Fascist Party of Italy, speeches and images leaders of groups, organizations or movements recognized as criminal in accordance with the verdict of the Nuremberg Tribunal, speeches and images of leaders of organizations that collaborated with these groups, organizations or movements.
This initiative was submitted to the State Duma in a package with a bill that proposed to classify cartographic and other images and products that dispute the territorial integrity of the Russian Federation as extremist materials. This bill has so far been considered only in the first reading (December 20, 2022).
