If your password consists of no more than six digits, consider that it does not exist at all: even an amateur hacker can steal your data instantly. According to the Daily Mail, today a password consisting of at least 12 characters with uppercase and lowercase letters, numbers and symbols can be considered relatively strong.

At the same time, the publication pays special attention to the fact that the password must be randomly generated.

Experts from the cybersecurity company Hive Systems have prepared a table that clearly shows how vulnerable your password is, based on the number and variety of characters used in it, and how many seconds/minutes/years it will take for a hacker to guess it.

The fastest way to guess a password is just numbers. For example, it will take 1 second to crack a password of 12 digits, 6 days of 18 digits.

To protect your data, you need a randomly generated password of at least 12 characters, which consists of a combination of numbers, special characters, uppercase and lowercase letters. With the current state of computer technology, it would take a hacker 53 years to guess it.
