Russia confirmed the extension of the “grain deal” until July 17 inclusive without making any changes. At the same time, the Russian side warned that it would not extend the “grain deal” after the specified date if all problematic issues were not resolved. This is stated in a message on the website of the Russian Foreign Ministry.
The release says that due to the expiration on May 18 of the 60-day deadline for extending the Black Sea initiative for the export of Ukrainian food, they confirmed its extension for another two months – until July 17 inclusive.
The department added that there is no talk of expanding the “grain deal” without fulfilling its Russian part. The agreement itself will be terminated after July 17, warned the Russian Foreign Ministry.
Recall that the Black Sea Grain Initiative, which was signed on July 22, 2022 by representatives of Russia, Turkey, Ukraine and the UN, involves the export of Ukrainian grain, food and fertilizer across the Black Sea from three ports, including Odessa.
The grain initiative is an integral part of the package agreement. The second part, the Russia-UN memorandum, provides for unblocking Russian exports of food and fertilizers, reconnecting Rosselkhozbank to SWIFT, and a number of other measures. Moscow assures that this part of the package agreement has not yet been implemented.
