President of Belarus Alexander Lukashenko was absent from the ceremony of celebrating the Day of the flag, coat of arms and anthem of the country. This morning, his congratulations were published on the website of the President of Belarus. However, judging by the video footage of the SB TV channel, Prime Minister Roman Golovchenko read out this address at the ceremony.
Local media wrote that on the eve of the event, Lukashenka’s cortege “was in the presidential special hospital for two hours” near Minsk.
We add that Lukashenka did not take part in public events after the celebration of Victory Day on May 9 in Moscow. He attended the parade, and after it, together with Russian President Vladimir Putin, he laid flowers at the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier.
However, the Belarusian president was not at the breakfast in the Kremlin. The press secretary of the Russian president, Dmitry Peskov, then explained this by the fact that Lukashenka had left for festive events in Belarus.
As MK writes, the Belarusian media, citing sources, previously reported that Lukashenka only had the flu. Today, journalists suggested that the virus could join some “chronic problems.”
