In 90 minutes, the ECU911 received 67 calls due to the earthquake in Quito

Firefighters found damage to the walls of a heritage house, due to the earthquake.

Between 11:00 and 13:30, the ECU911 Quito Zonal Center received 67 calls related to the 4.5-magnitude earthquake that shook the capital on November 23.

Of the total communications, 41 were about minor incidents in different parts of the city, which received timely attention; while 26 calls were for inquiries.

Several landslides were registered in Quito due to the earthquake

The Integrated Security System ECU911 also reported that no significant damage was recorded in the basic or strategic infrastructure of the Metropolitan District.

The Secretary of Security, Daniela Valarezo, reported in a press conference that the earthquake, which had as its epicenter the parish of Nayón, in the northeast, did not leave fatalities, but did cause minor collapses and minor damage to some homes.

Until 1:00 p.m., the Metropolitan COE reported 26 attentions: 1 structural collapse, 4 damage to more serious buildings, 1 structural damage to a hotel, 1 structural damage to a public institution, 14 structural damage to private homes, 5 mass movements.

Due to the earthquake, a patrimonial house, located on 10 de Agosto and Colón avenues, in the north, presented significant damage, as determined by the Quito Fire Department (CBQ) after an inspection. In images shared on the CBQ social networks, a crack is observed in a wall and in a part of the ceiling.

An evaluation will now be coordinated together with the metropolitan Emergency Operations Committee (COE). (I)
