The new package of EU sanctions includes sanctions against more than 35 companies from Iran, China, the UAE, as well as Armenia and Uzbekistan due to the fact that they allegedly support the military-industrial complex of the Russian Federation, Bloomberg reports, citing internal documents of the European Commission.
At the same time, Bloomberg cites a list of Chinese companies that face sanctions, published the day before by the Financial Times. The agency does not indicate the names of companies from other countries that may fall under sanctions. According to journalists, the new package proposes to impose sanctions against about 70 individuals. The agency also does not specify their names and citizenship.
It is noted that in general the EU intends to send a new sanctions package to combat circumvention of existing restrictions, primarily in the export of high-tech products and dual-use goods to Russia. Also under sanctions there may be Russian IT companies cooperating with the FSB, and some Russian media, such as RT Balkan.
Recall, earlier it was reported that the European Commission for the first time since the beginning of the conflict in Ukraine proposed to impose sanctions against a number of Chinese companies for the supply of equipment to Russia, which is allegedly used for military purposes.
