The “barbecue relaxation” that happened this year does not mean a decrease in control over compliance with fire safety requirements, but it provides a greater opportunity for law-abiding behavior and conscious compliance with the requirements of the law. Lawyer Elena Kuderko told PRIME about this.
The average garden plot is six acres of land, and not always of the correct shape. It is practically impossible to withstand 25 meters from the source of fire to a residential building, namely, until recently, these were the requirements of the law, the violation of which entailed a fine, recalls the agency.
By the beginning of the active summer season, the legislator went to meet the citizens and softened the previously existing standards. Starting from March 1, 2023, the distance from the source of open fire on the site to the building has been reduced to five meters. It will be possible to burn garbage and the remains of foliage at a distance of 15 meters from buildings, and if burned in a heat-resistant container, then up to 7.5 meters. The brazier should still be stationary, located on a non-combustible surface, sand or a fire extinguisher should be kept next to it in case of an unexpected fire, and the one who monitors the fire should have a mobile phone with him to call emergency services.
Fire rules still strictly regulate the standard distances from the source of open fire to the nearest buildings, trees and shrubs, as well as the rules for arranging the hearth itself.
Thus, potentially each barbecue is the basis for bringing the owner to administrative responsibility in the amount of 1,500 to 4,000 rubles. Unless, of course, you do not follow the above rules. And during the fire period, the fines are much higher, Kuderko concluded.
