Investigators are interrogating Alexander Permyakov, who was detained on suspicion of attempting to assassinate Zakhar Prilepin.
According to the RF IC, he confesses. The department noted that Permyakov testified that he acted on instructions from the special services of Ukraine. He planted an explosive device in the path of the writer’s car and then remotely detonated it.
Permyakov was detained when he was leaving the forest in another settlement. Interior Minister Vladimir Kolokoltsev promised to reward police officers for their high professionalism in solving a high-profile crime. We are talking about the deputy head of the OUUP and PDN of the department of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia for the Semenov city district of the Nizhny Novgorod region, police lieutenant colonel Ekaterina Sirotina, senior district police officer Major Alexander Sokolov and district police lieutenant Dmitry Voevodina, who discovered and detained the suspect.
Currently, investigative actions in the framework of a criminal case under Art. 205 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (terrorist act) continue. Swabs were taken from Permyakov’s hands and clothes. Law enforcement officers identify other persons involved in the crime.
Prilepin is being operated on by doctors from the Nizhny Novgorod hospital named after I. Semashko. 27-year-old Alexander Shubin, who was with him in the car, died in the explosion.
