Czech President Petr Pavel presented Ukrainian colleague Vladimir Zelensky with a CZ 75 self-loading pistol. According to RBC, the Czech leader announced this on the social network.
“As a sign of respect for heroism, I presented Vladimir Zelensky with the legendary CZ 75, serial number 22,” Pavel wrote. He attached a photo of the gun to the post.
The Czech president explained that this type of weapon is an edition of the Order of the White Lion (the highest state award of the Czech Republic). In March last year, Pavel’s predecessor Milos Zeman decided to present this award to Zelensky.
Pavel presented the Ukrainian president with an inlaid pistol with a decorated handle. In the gift box where it lies, there is a metal plate. The photo does not show what is written on it.
The CZ 75 is a self-loading pistol developed in Czechoslovakia in 1975 based on a 1935 Browning design. Serial production was started by Česká zbrojovka Uherský Brod in 1977. The weapon has a number of modifications, it is used all over the world.
