It is impossible to immediately understand what kind of person is in front of you, if you have recently met. But his answer to just one question can tell a lot.
According to ProNews, scientists from the University of Nebraska conducted an interesting study in which they asked subjects one question. The answer to it said a lot about the personality and character of a person. People were simply asked what they thought of someone else.
Experts say that people see their own traits in others. So, a selfish person will pay attention to manifestations of selfishness in another, a kind and sincere person will notice such features as gentleness and friendliness.
Scientists note that the more positively the participants of the experiment assessed other people, the happier and more emotionally stable they themselves were. Those who enthusiastically and willingly listed the negative characteristics of people about whom they were asked for an opinion were themselves deprived of positive character traits.
A hostile person will see others in exactly the same way, a narcissist will pay attention to arrogance, a tyrant will note aggressiveness, even if they do not notice such behavior in themselves.
“A person whose world is painted black sees others in the same way. This trend alone indicates a greater likelihood of depression or other psychological disorders in a person, ”the experts add.
