The Belarusian Air Force and Air Defense Forces are moving to the Russian training ground for exercises in conditions “close to a real combat situation”

The first stage of the operational-tactical exercises of the Belarusian Air Force and Air Defense Forces, which took place on the territory of Belarus, has been completed, the next one will take place at the Russian Ashuluk training ground. This was reported by Interfax with reference to the Ministry of Defense of the Republic.

Practicing military operations at Ashuluk will last from August 22 to 25, the department specified.

Personnel and weapons, military and special equipment of aviation military units, air defense troops and radio engineering troops, as well as combat crews of the “Military Academy of the Republic of Belarus” are involved in live-fire exercises.

According to the Belarusian Ministry of Defense, the purpose of the exercises is to increase the coherence of formations and military units, taking into account the experience of “modern military conflicts.” In addition, the maneuvers of the exercises are “closer to a real combat situation,” the department stressed.

Earlier it was reported that the Belarusian military will also take part in the Vostok-2022 exercises in the Russian Federation. They will be held from August 30 to September 5 at 13 training grounds of the Eastern Military District, including in Buryatia, the Khabarovsk and Trans-Baikal Territories, in Primorye and Sakhalin, as well as on the Kuril Islands.
