The Leninsky District Court denied a resident of St. Petersburg a claim against the border service, whose employees during the mobilization period in the fall of 2022 did not allow the man to travel abroad due to restrictions imposed by the military registration and enlistment office. This was reported in the United press service of the courts of the city.
In a statement, the man indicated that on October 10, 2022, he was not allowed on a flight at Pulkovo Airport. The border guards handed the Petersburger a notice of restriction on the right to leave the country – in accordance with the federal law “On mobilization training and mobilization in the Russian Federation.” The plaintiff considered the document illegal, since, in his own words, before the trip he applied to his military registration and enlistment office, where he was informed that there were no restrictive measures against him.
The Main Organizational and Mobilization Department of the General Staff of the RF Armed Forces, in response to a request, informed the court that during the period of partial mobilization, the military commissariat of St. Petersburg provided the Ministry of Defense with lists of local residents registered with the military, among whom was the plaintiff. On September 28, 2022, the military department sent information to the border service to restrict citizens, including the plaintiff, from leaving Russia. Already on October 26, these restrictions were lifted, of which the border service was also notified.
