Alla Manilova, Deputy Minister of Culture, has become the new general director of the Russian Museum in St. Petersburg. Prior to that, she worked in the St. Petersburg government (under Governor Valentin Matvienko), where she oversaw issues of culture, international cultural cooperation, science, education, and cultural tourism.

The Ministry of Culture of the Russian Federation noted that the decision “is connected with the personal request of Alla Manilova.” She served as deputy minister for more than 11 years.

By education, Manilova is a journalist (she graduated from Leningrad State University), she began her career in the newspapers Svetlana, Leningradskaya Pravda, and Nevskoe Vremya.

Since February, when the ex-head of the institution Vladimir Gusev left his post after more than 30 years of work, the post of acting director of the Russian Museum has been occupied by Anna Tsvetkova, deputy head of the museum for development, educational and educational activities.
