Former Austrian Foreign Minister Karin Kneissl said that she had decided to leave the country because of the threats and accusations she received in the media in the fall of 2020, before the start of Russia’s special operation in Ukraine. According to RBC, she went to France, and from there to Lebanon, and now shared the details of the persecution by the public.

In an interview with RT DE, Kneissl said that she was threatened not only by email, but also on the streets of Vienna. According to her, in the letters that came to her there were insults hinting at her connection with Russian President Vladimir Putin, as well as threats of physical violence. “You need to cut your throat and bury it alive like that, and we will make sure that you are buried that way,” Kneissl shared the details of the threats.

According to the ex-Foreign Minister, the media accused her of espionage and cruelty to animals. In addition, in fact, there was a ban on work for her in the country. In France, the problems are not over. Kneissl claims that local intelligence agencies prevented her from renting an apartment in the country.
