The European Union supplied Ukraine with arms worth 13 billion euros and provided training for more than 16,000 Ukrainian servicemen, Josep Borrell, head of the EU foreign policy service, said at a press conference.
He also said that more than 1,000 missiles and ammunition had been provided to Ukraine.
Borrell noted that the EU continues to fulfill its promise to supply Kyiv with ammunition and missiles for a total of 1 billion euros, and new weapons are also being purchased. The goal of training the Ukrainian military is to bring their number up to 30,000, he added.
In addition, the head of European diplomacy commented on the ideas of China and Brazil to resolve the Ukrainian conflict. According to him, the EU cannot agree with the “benevolent approach”, which implies that both sides of the conflict do not want to stop hostilities. Borrell stressed that Ukraine and Russia should not be put on the same level. “That is why we are supporting Ukraine, now supplying tanks, air defenses and even fighter jets,” he said.
