The majority of Russians (61%) are of the opinion that the coronavirus was created in a laboratory, showed a survey of the SuperJob service, which was attended by 1.6 thousand respondents from all districts of the country.
Recently, as the company recalled, the Russian Ministry of Defense also admitted the involvement of the United States in the emergence of the COVID-19 pandemic. According to service analysts, since last year, when a similar study was conducted, the popularity of the theory of the artificial origin of coronavirus has grown. Today, only 13% of Russians have no doubt that humanity received COVID-19 from bats.
Russians over 45 years old are twice as likely to adhere to conspiracy theories about the origin of covid as their compatriots under 35 years old: 67% versus 39%, respectively. Versions that the coronavirus was created in the laboratory are also more often adhered to by men: 65% versus 56% among women.
Anti-vaccinators are also more willing to believe in the artificial origin of the virus: among them, there are one and a half times more supporters of this theory than among those vaccinated, analysts of the service found out.
