The countries of the Group of Seven (G7) strongly support the full implementation, extension and expansion of the grain deal. According to TASS, this is stated in a joint statement adopted following the results of the talks of ministers on agricultural issues of the association held on April 22-23 in Miyazaki.
The ministers also announced the G7’s readiness to support Kyiv in rehabilitating agricultural infrastructure, including irrigation facilities, food processing plants and storage facilities, as well as in providing financial support to Ukrainian farmers. In addition, the association countries intend to help the Ukrainian authorities in the issue of demining agricultural land.
In addition, the ministers declared their readiness to assist developing countries in improving the sustainability and stability of their agricultural and food industries.
The G7 countries consider it necessary to use innovation for the sake of sustainability in the agriculture and food sectors. The use of new agro-industrial technologies will benefit residents of both developed and developing countries, the ministers believe. They also noted that the use of innovation will help shape supply chains and provide decent income opportunities.
In addition, the ministers of the G7 countries announced their intention to create a more viable agricultural system that will reduce pollution and food losses.
