An accident involving two cars occurred in the village of Plastun in Primorye. According to TASS with reference to the UGIBDD of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia for the Primorsky Territory, as a result of an accident, two 14-year-old children died and another was injured.
“According to preliminary data, a 33-year-old driver of a Toyota Land Cruiser was moving down Gagarin Street from the side of house No. 1 in the direction of house No. 6. Not choosing a safe distance from the Toyota Corolla car moving ahead of him, he collided with it. After the impact, the car veered off the roadway onto the side of the road and crashed into a tree. <…> As a result of the accident, the crew of the Toyota Corolla was injured. Doctors diagnosed a 15-year-old driver with a head injury. 14-year-old passengers (a girl and a boy) died in the hospital, ”the message says.
It is specified that the driver of the Toyota Land Cruiser fled the scene, but later independently appeared at the police department. The off-road driver did not undergo training for the right to drive a vehicle, and was not brought to administrative responsibility for violating traffic rules. A minor driver of a Toyota Corolla took the car keys without the knowledge of his parents.
A 33-year-old man is under administrative investigation under six articles, including leaving the scene of an accident, driving an unregistered car, driving a car with false registration plates. An advanced blood test was taken from him to detect a state of intoxication.
According to the prosecutor’s office of Primorye, the accident occurred on Saturday late in the evening. “The driver of the Toyota Land Cruiser fled the scene, he is currently detained. <…> The course and result of the pre-investigation check on the fact of the incident is under control in the district prosecutor’s office. The supervisory authority will also evaluate the activities of the bodies of the system for the prevention of neglect and juvenile delinquency, including the completeness of preventive work in the field of road safety carried out with adolescents, ”the prosecutor’s office said in its Telegram channel.
According to the press service of the UGIBDD of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia for the Primorsky Territory, the minor who drove the car is not registered with the juvenile affairs inspectorate, the family is prosperous.
