Advisor to the head of the Rosenergoatom concern, Renat Karchaa, reported damage to the glazing of the turbine hall of the fourth power unit of the Zaporozhye NPP as a result of shelling. It is reported by Interfax.
The day before, the Director General of the IAEA Rafael Grossi expressed concern about the intense shelling in the area of the ZNPP.
“Yes, the windows in the turbine hall were indeed shattered, they were shattered by a blast wave. But this story has more to do with the use of not artillery strikes, but drones. They (the Ukrainian military) do not stop this activity,” Karchaa said in response to a question from the Rossiya-24 TV channel.
Grossi last Friday, in particular, said that IAEA experts at the ZNPP “often reported the sounds of explosions, sometimes, according to them, it was like an intense shelling near the plant.” “I am deeply concerned about this state of affairs,” the IAEA director general said.
Grossi noted that he continues to make efforts to ensure the security of the ZNPP, to negotiate with the Ukrainian and Russian sides.
