Angélica Murillo bathed and played with her 9-month-old baby in a plastic pool in the backyard of her house, at the Cohete site, in the rural parish of San Pedro de Suma de El Carmen, in Manabí, when two men appeared on a motorcycle who first told him they were on a dog vaccination campaign.
She told them that she had no pets in the house. The subjects allegedly left, but soon returned, entered the house and intimidated her.

After several minutes, the assailants fled because they heard the noise of a motorcycle some 150 meters away.

Upon arrival, the girl saw her little sister floating in the pool in the courtyard. He walked over to his mother and untied her.

Criminalistics and Dinased personnel arrived at the site and carried out the removal of the body, which was taken to the Institute of Forensic Sciences of Santo Domingo de los Tsáchilas.
