The Russian Ministry of Defense said that a check of the combat readiness of the Pacific Fleet showed that the military is ready to repel an attack by a potential enemy from ocean and sea directions. It is reported by RBC.
“The command and personnel of the fleet in a short time prepared the forces for combat operations, carried out operational deployment and worked out a set of combat training tasks in the near and far sea zones,” the message says.
During the inspection, exercises were held in which the fleet repelled massive missile and air strikes, trained to detect and destroy submarines. Torpedo, artillery firing and rocket launches were carried out at mock targets – enemy ships and ground targets.
The head of the department, Sergei Shoigu, announced the start of the inspection on April 14. The fleet was alerted in full force and brought to the highest degree of combat readiness.
