The criminals gave two shots to a citizen who wanted to hit one of the antisocials and another shot to a woman who tried to flee the place.
PINEAPPLE, El Oro
A double murder was registered in the El Carmen site, jurisdiction of the Piñas canton, El Oro province. According to witnesses, four criminals shot a man and a woman after taking at least $ 900 from them.
The assailants would have arrived at a building in the area, where several people were gathered, and with their weapons they intimidated those present, who were told to give them the money they had saved. One of those affected would have tried to react and there they would have been shot, the inhabitants of this town told the police.
The fatalities were identified as Benedito de Jesús Torres Armijos, 47, and Magali Mariuxi Campoverde Alvarado, 35. Both were left lying in the entrance of the house.
According to witnesses, the money they took was from a wheel (a way to save money in a domestic way among acquaintances), and that is why several people were gathered in that house, on the afternoon of Saturday 20, when that assault and tragedy occurred.
An older adult noticed that something strange was happening inside the building and gave notice to the now deceased. The man tried to enter the house and tried to hit one of the assailants with a glass bottle. He did not achieve the task and immediately received two shots that ended his life.
Campoverde, meanwhile, tried to flee the site and one of the criminals immediately shot her, killing her on the spot.
The subjects fled the scene aboard two motorcycles. They took the money that they took from the visitors.
After several minutes, elements of the National Police of the Piñas canton carried out an operation without obtaining results.
The personnel of the Directorate of Violent Deaths (Dinased) carried out the removal of the bodies, which were transferred to the Machala Forensic Center to carry out the proceedings.
There is consternation and concern over this new violent crime that increases the death toll from crime in Ecuador. (I)
