US authorities condemn China’s missile launches following US House Speaker Nancy Pelosi’s trip to Taiwan. It is reported by TASS with reference to the White House.

The US administration also stressed that by order of the Pentagon, the aircraft carrier Ronald Reagan and escort ships will remain off Taiwan to monitor developments.

In addition, Washington canceled tests of the Minuteman III intercontinental ballistic missile scheduled for this week. A Wall Street Journal source said this was done to avoid “any misunderstandings given the US actions around Taiwan.”

Recall, the People’s Liberation Army of China (PLA) on August 4 began live-fire exercises in six zones of Taiwan’s waters. According to China Central Television, the maneuvers, which became a response to Nancy Pelosi’s visit to Taipei, started in six areas in the water area around the island.
