The nephew of the 35th President of the United States John F. Kennedy, Robert Kennedy Jr. announced that he will take part in the fight for the presidency in 2024 from the Democratic Party. It is reported by Interfax.

“I’m here to announce my candidacy for the Democratic presidential nomination,” Kennedy Jr. said in Boston.

“My mission is to put an end to the corrupt merging of state and corporate power over the next 18 months of this campaign, as well as during my presidency,” he added.

Earlier in April, Kennedy Jr. filed with the Federal Election Commission to run in the 2024 presidential campaign.

The American media reminds that 69-year-old Robert Kennedy Jr. is an environmental lawyer and anti-vaccination activist. He is the son of former New York Senator, US Attorney General Robert Kennedy and the nephew of the 35th President John F. Kennedy.

Kennedy is the second registered Democratic presidential candidate. Earlier, the writer Marianne Williamson launched a campaign to nominate her candidacy from the Democratic Party.

The current head of the White House, Joe Biden, has not yet officially announced his participation in the presidential election.
