The Netherlands has allocated 100 million euros to Ukraine to support agriculture and prepare for the coming winter. According to RBC, this was announced by the Minister of Foreign Trade and Cooperation Lishe Schreinemacher.
According to her, this is the first tranche in the field of recovery support from the 2.5 billion euros that the country’s leadership promised Kyiv at the beginning of the year. The money will be transferred through the mechanism of the World Bank. The minister clarified that the emphasis in the entire amount was on military support, but specifically these 100 million euros should go to support farmers and purchase generators before the winter heating season.
“40 million euros are intended for agricultural companies so that they can buy grain this season or replace broken agricultural equipment,” Schreinemacher explained. The remaining funds should go to the purchase of generators.
From the end of February 2022 until April 5, the Netherlands supplied Ukraine with military assistance totaling 1.2 billion euros, according to a report from the defense department. An additional 121 million euros went to purchase military goods for the country, Amsterdam transferred the remaining funds to funds that provide support to Ukraine.
