“Do not swear off the bag and prison” – today this folklore maxim has become more relevant than ever. The book tells how to be and what to do if the terrible has already happened. “About how it is there” – this is practical advice, and everyday stories, and tales, and memoirs, and poems, and even a dictionary of current prison vocabulary (in aliis verbis of thieves give a damn).
The author is Belarusian producer number 1 Gennady Shulman, who spent six years in prison in the case of organizing a Joe Cocker concert. He was the first to bring DDT and Alisa, Patricia Kaas and Robert Plant, Scorpions, Nazareth, Deep Purple, Mitkov and Salvador Dali to Minsk – many of these stories became material for his blog “Odnazhda I Brought”, which is enjoyed by Facebook subscribers . In places not so remote, the author had to master new genres.
“To take winter in the camp means to take a year away from the deadline. Because it is with winter that the most difficult conflicts and trials are connected in the zone, where your health, adequacy can be at stake (convicts sometimes go crazy), and sometimes life … “
“The appearance of this book surprisingly coincided with the tragic events that befell Belarus and Russia in the early 2020s. I have no doubt that in the current realities this book will be useful and needed by people more than ever,” says Gennady Shulman.
The writer and teacher of journalistic skill Elena Chernikova became the literary cross book. In the mArs art space, she will personally present the book and the author, and lead an entertaining excursion into the history of camp literature in Russia.
The author will join the meeting online. The moderator of the meeting is TV presenter Roman Gerasimov.
At the presentation, you can buy a book by Gennady Shulman “About how it is there.”
Tickets for the event can be purchased on TimePad or at the box office before the event.
