The Arbitration Court of the Nizhny Novgorod Region lifted the arrest from all assets of the German company Volkswagen in Russia in the first lawsuit of the Gorky Automobile Plant in the amount of more than 15.5 billion rubles. It is reported by RIA Novosti.
According to the court, on April 10, the Arbitration Court of the Nizhny Novgorod Region received four more petitions – from Volkswagen Finance Luxembourg S.A., Skoda Auto A.S., Volkswagen Group Rus and Volkswagen Aktiengesellschaft. They demanded the annulment of the March 17 court decision on the adoption of interim measures.
The Arbitration Court of the Nizhny Novgorod Region, having considered the petitions, decided to cancel in full the interim measures adopted by the ruling of March 17.
Then, we recall, the Arbitration Court of the Nizhny Novgorod Region arrested Volkswagen assets in Russia at the suit of GAZ. The plaintiff demanded to recover more than 15.5 billion rubles from the company. Interim measures have been imposed to prevent Volkswagen from leaving the country until the situation is resolved.
The conflict is related to the termination of the agreement on the contract assembly of Volkswagen cars at the facilities of GAZ, which was carried out until the spring of 2022. The Russian automaker demanded to recognize it as invalid and pay the loss incurred by him.
