The prosecutor’s office of the Khabarovsk Territory approved an indictment against a local resident suspected of stealing gold schlich worth a total of 18 million rubles from a gold mining enterprise.
According to the press service of the department, the charge was brought against a resident of the workers’ settlement Mnogovershinny in the Nikolaev region of the region. According to investigators, in April 2022, being an employee of a gold mining enterprise, he stole gold slip (concentrate of heavy metals formed after washing the rock) containing both gold and silver. The weight of the first was estimated at more than 5.8 kg, the second – at 90. The total cost of these metals exceeded 18 million rubles.
The investigation believes that the accused was going to sell the stolen precious metal. To do this, he colluded with other people who also participated in the criminal scheme. However, the suspects failed to sell the gold: in July 2022, FSB officers confiscated it. A criminal case was opened against a suspected worker of a gold mining enterprise for the theft on an especially large scale and an attempt to sell precious metals by a group of persons by prior agreement.
The criminal case has been referred to the court.
