Yerevan and Baku accused each other of shelling in the area of the Lachin corridor, seven people were killed on both sides. According to RBC, this was reported by the military departments of the two countries.
“April 11 at about 16:20 (17:20 Moscow time – RBC) units of the Armenian armed forces from their positions in the direction of the settlement of Dyg, Goris region [Армении] fired at the opposite positions of the Azerbaijani army in the Lachin direction from various-caliber small arms,” the Azerbaijani Defense Ministry said.
“On April 11, around 16:00, units of the Azerbaijani Armed Forces opened fire on the servicemen of the Armenian Armed Forces, carrying out engineering work in the direction of the Tekh community. The Armenian side has taken retaliatory actions,” the Armenian Defense Ministry said in a statement.
Tekh and Dyg are the Armenian and Azeri names of the settlement, which is located about 10 km from the Armenian city of Goris and about 40 km from Stepanakert, the capital of the unrecognized republic of Nagorno-Karabakh, on the road connecting the two cities.
On the Armenian side, four soldiers were killed, six were wounded, and on the Azerbaijani side, three.
As of 19:30 Moscow time, the situation in the area is calm, according to Yerevan and Baku.
The summary of the Russian peacekeeping contingent in Nagorno-Karabakh does not contain data on this clash, but it says two recorded violations of the ceasefire in another area.
