The American company Microsoft has stopped warranty service for all Xbox consoles in Russia, including those devices that were officially imported into the country, Izvestia writes with reference to the company’s technical support service.
The technical service stated that warranty service was “unavailable due to the current situation” and recommended that the owners of the set-top boxes contact the store where they were purchased.
The presence of the problem was confirmed by the publication and the owners of the devices. One of them said that he could not hand over the console to the Microsoft service for service, despite the fact that he purchased it officially and with a manufacturer’s warranty.
Rospotrebnadzor, in turn, stated that the seller is responsible for the warranty service of the devices, and the consumer has the right to make claims regarding the inadequate quality of the goods.
Microsoft, which produces the Xbox console, announced the suspension of activities in Russia in early March 2022, after the start of a military operation in Ukraine.
