“Kommersant”: The court canceled the decision on the search and arrest in absentia of the defendant who left for the SVO

The Moscow City Court overturned the decision of the Lefortovsky District Court to put on the wanted list and arrest in absentia Alexander Dagutsa, a native of Moldova, suspected of illegally withdrawing $24 million abroad. About this writes the publication “Kommersant”.

The newspaper recalls that the man was a defendant in the case under Part 3 of Art. 193.1 of the Criminal Code, and he was threatened with up to ten years in prison.

According to the prosecution, Daguta was a member of a criminal group whose leaders took control of the capital’s enterprise, and Daguta’s manager became one of the real leaders of the organization. He and the accountant transferred $24 million to the account of the Turkish company as payment for a batch of building materials, but received only $263,000 worth of goods. The rest of the money was withdrawn abroad.

“Kommersant” writes that at first a measure was chosen in the form of a written undertaking not to leave the place. Then the Lefortovo court received a request from the suspect to “suspend the process” in connection with his participation in the SVO. Nevertheless, the court ruled that he was arrested in absentia and put on the international wanted list. The process, however, was suspended until his capture.

It is also reported that by the time of the proceedings in the Moscow City Court, Dagutsa took part in the hostilities for several settlements and received a departmental medal. The defendant of the suspect, Oleg Tselipotkin, who filed a complaint against the decision of the Lefortovo court with the Moscow City Court, noted that Dagutsy’s actions cannot be considered an escape, and the Moscow City Court agreed with the defense and canceled the decision to arrest and search for the suspect.
