Maxim Fomin (Vladlen Tatarsky) was buried at the Troekurovsky cemetery in Moscow to the sound of military salutes.
Before that, farewell to the Donetsk militia and a well-known military correspondent took place in the ritual hall. The ceremony was held under heightened security measures. His relatives, friends, military, politicians and ordinary citizens came to say goodbye to Fomin. In particular, the ex-Minister of Information of the DPR, military observer Daniil Bezsonov, and musician Akim Apachev arrived at the Troekurovsky cemetery.
“His whole life is like a bright flash. He has always lived in truth. When it was difficult for him, he moved in a non-standard way. He was not afraid to criticize. He always said what he thinks,” said the chairman of the Liberal Democratic Party, Leonid Slutsky, at parting.
Evgeny Prigozhin, the founder of Wagner PMC, also came to say goodbye to Vladlen Tatarsky. He, in particular, noted that Tatarsky is a soldier “who remains with us, whose voice will always live and speak only the truth.”
The ceremony was held with military honors. The coffin was lowered into the ground under volleys of gun salute.
Vladlen Tatarsky was killed on April 2 by a bomb explosion hidden in a figurine, which Daria Trepova handed him to events in a cafe in St. Petersburg. A participant in the terrorist attack was detained and is in the Moscow Lefortovo pre-trial detention center. Maxim Fomin’s mother said she forgave Trepova. “Yes, I forgive them all, let the Lord understand. He fasted, prayed, took communion. He went like a warrior to heaven in order to fight there, ”she said in an interview with SHOT.
