Rosstat confirmed the decline in the Russian economy last year by 2.1%. The Statistical Office today published the second estimate of the dynamics of the Russian GDP for 2022.
Thus, according to Rosstat, the volume of Russia’s GDP for 2022 amounted to 153.435 trillion rubles in current prices.
The decline in Russia’s GDP in the fourth quarter of 2022 slowed to 2.7% in annual terms after a decline of 3.5% in the third quarter.
As noted in Rosstat, the decline in GDP in 2022 was affected by a decrease in the volume index of value added in a number of industries, for example, wholesale and retail trade, water supply, waste management, etc. At the same time, an increase in the volume index of value added was observed in such industries as agriculture, construction, hotels and restaurants, information and communication.
According to the materials of the department, in intra-annual dynamics, the deepest drop in the index of physical volume of value added was observed in Q2, mainly due to the following industries: wholesale and retail trade; manufacturing industries; transportation and storage; hotels and restaurants; mining/
