The plane, heading from Yekaterinburg to Moscow, took off late due to the situation with MMA fighter Alexander Emelianenko, RBC Sport reports, citing local media, which rely on eyewitness reports.

One of the witnesses of the incident said that the guard stopped the fighter after he relieved himself in the wrong place. He called the police and threatened Emelianenko with a fine. Passengers who at that time were in the bus with open doors claim that the fighter was in a state of intoxication. Arriving police officers checked the man’s documents, took joint photographs and released him. As a result, the flight took off with a delay of 20 minutes.

The athlete’s manager Nikita Burchak confirmed the incident and told the agency that Emelianenko “repents of what happened.” According to him, “it really happened such an unpleasant situation.” “There is nothing good in this situation,” added Burchak, noting that “now law enforcement agencies have no claims against Alexander, and there weren’t really any.”

At the same time, TASS, citing the press service of the Department of Transportation of the Ministry of Internal Affairs for the Ural Federal District, reports that there were no “illegal incidents” during the departure of the flight from Yekaterinburg to Domodedovo, and the reason for the activity of people was “the desire to take a picture with one of the passengers.”
